How fun is this?! I could spend hours on this website coming up with outfits I could only dream of! I love it! I found it on this blog... I love e, the other day I thought I saw her at this coffee house and I about freaked... but then I realized the woman I saw wasn't pregnant... not to mention e does not live in Portland. Anyways.... this fancy fashion website makes me feel oh so fancy, like I could simply own anything I click on, wouldn't that be nice?

So, it's currently snowing outside, and I'm laying couchridden due to excruciating back pain around dreaming of spring outfits! I feel a bit silly and super girly, but I'll embrace it! I like to be girly every now and then.

I'm also loving this website because I've recently been taping into the idea of making some cute clothes. What better place to start than fabulous spring inspiration? Urban Outfitters has some items I adore, I need to borrow steal some ideas.

In other news.... I freakin' ran three whole miles today!!! It was the first time, but it SO will not be the last! - at least I hope not, my back seems to be telling me otherwise... I went to put on my sweats this evening and POP! My lower back is all jacked up. Why is it that whenever I exercise and eat healthy my body freaks out?! Like I'm doing something wrong...

I'm not though.

I stretch.

I drink lots of water.

Some favorites.

I have this corner. It's were the washer and dryer are located in my home. It is also, due to the lack of storage space, the place where my rapidly growing collection of sewing stuff is kept. This week I've been trying to organize. Oh man. It is quite a task! So, in this corner I have a window. And I really want some curtains up so I like my corner a little more. If you like your laundry room, you like doing laundry. Right? Maybe... That's what I like to think anyway. I got my inspiration from this blog. This woman is amazing. I want to be her best friend... or I want her to come make my home look amazing!

Unfortunately I'm flat broke right now and will not be getting any of these any time soon. But it's fun to look! I'm concerned that a small space with large printed fabric will make it look even smaller... but thats the only kind of fabric I can like right now. I guess this being broke thing will give me plenty of time to find the fabric for me. Let's be optimistic here.

Crafty Wonderland

Today I went to the Oregon Convention Center to Crafty Wonderland! Such a great event for anyone that loves to create and appreciates homemade goods. I ventured off, alone, two hours before doors opened to be one of the first in line to receive my free goody bag full of wonderful treats from the venders. I got a Chinook Book, a handmade notebook, hair clips, small prints, and lots of info on stores and local shops that sell PDX art work. It was so worth it to come early! I would strongly advise you to look up theses artists and see the beauty the make. Some of my favorites are:

I made these shoes and dress for a friend of ours this past week. I must say, the gifts I make are not only for the people I give them to, but also for me! I LOVE creating things and I LOVE knowing others enjoy them. It's just a beautiful thing! Not to mention, this child I gave this adorable outfit to is going to look fabulous in it! She is SO stinkin' adorable in every way! Happy first birthday Taylor!

birthday quilt!

My best work I've done thus far in my journey with my sewing machine... I must say, I am so proud of myself! I look at this thing and think, I really made that? I'm sorry if I sound self centered... I just am so excited! I'm looking forward to making more quilts and things for people I love, and people I don't even know yet!

This quilt is for my life long friend Autumn, she is the most amazing artist I have ever had the privilege of knowing on such a deep level. I love her so so much. This quilt is for her, everything about it has meaning that she understands. Happy Birthday to my wonderful friend!

not much has changed...

Christmas in February

Its cloudy and lame outside, which is why I'm inside! Inside my warm home, in my warm sweats, wrapped in a warm blanket... all I need is a warm coffee to keep me company. Unfortunately, that would involve me getting up, and that I just can't do.
Today was not a complete waste however, I made a Christmas tree skirt! Shortly after Christmas I stopped by the fabric store knowing they would have some fabulous sales on Holiday fabric, and, they did! After much confusion trying to figure out the pattern from my mom's tree skirt, I prevailed and thus constructed my very own. I'm super excited and looking forward to the many possibilities this circular shape can bring me too, like circular blankets? Or rugs? Or maybe even a medley of textures and fabrics to create a headboard? Who knows! The possibilities are endless - I've never made anything in a circle before!

A small side note... I have a confession,
I regret to announce (to my ridiculously small audience) that I am indeed a Miley Cyrus fan. I know I know I wish I wasn't, but when Party In The USA turns on the radio I can't help but sing along. I don't like her, but man her songs are catchy!

some crafty birds

I made these pillows a few months ago when the husband and I first got married. I needed to make hour home a little more warm and home-ish. This was my first attempt at applique and, if I do say so myself, I think they turned out pretty dang good.




Next project for the living room will be some coordinating drapes for our sad looking windows! By the way, appliques have saved my life. I am loving this whole new world I've just began exploring!
